Dear Praying Friends,
May started with a trip to a hospital in Tampa to visit a Seminole lady
whose lungs had been bleeding for
an unknown reason. Her husband had been by her side for weeks in
the Okeechobee hospital as well as at the hospital in Tampa. She
passed away in her
early fifties, not long after our visit. Her death reinforces to us
that our lives are only
vapors that are quickly gone and that we must be about our Father’s
business.
Through the month of May and into the early part of June,
we have been greatly encouraged in
our ministry among the Seminoles. Laurie and I were able to lead an
Indian
lady to the Lord. She has two children and serious marital problems.
We have been praying for her husband for
several weeks and trust God will save him and restore their
marriage. A Seminole couple traveled with our family to Virginia for a
wedding and spent a
few more days with us as we visited some of our supporting churches.
Our family is now in Tennessee as this letter is written
and I have been having cell
phone conversations from here with a lady (a member of our church) and
her son (in his early 20’s) in Idaho. He
desires to be saved but feels he must more fully understand
faith, repentance and other aspects of salvation. Please pray for him
as well as his girlfriend and their
little daughter. We are also making contact with and presenting our
ministry to to some new churches and trust our support will rise to
the necessary level.
We would also ask that you would pray for Joel that his
application will be
accepted at Clearwater Christian College. He believes that is where
God would have him begin his college
this fall. There are many more exciting things to tell you
regarding the ministry at Seminole Bible
Baptist Church, but I will save that for our next prayer letter
which I must write not many days hence! A sincere thanks to all our fellow
laborers who
serve faithfully in their churches, who sacrifice and pray for us. You
are an example of what it
means to be about our Father’s business.
For Christ and the Seminoles,
